Attempting the same thing. Had to give up on creating a "large" topo map with ORD. now going back to Power inroads, and cant seem to export it out. the downgrad civil model didnt work. what is really odd, i can open the file that i exported out as a v8 model, perfectly with the versions before Power inroads. I FEEL YOUR PAIN

You can resolve this issue by using the new Downgrade Civil Model tool to remove all Civil data from the ORD model. That should read into older Civil products fine.
