Import a kmz?

I believe the traditional method to do this is to convert it to SketchUp first and then bring into Microstation/ORD environment. I'm not too sure if the free Sketchup version will let you convert, but worth a try.

Here's how I import KMZs to ORD / Microstation:

1. Download & install QGIS (GNU freeware)
2. Start a new project in QGIS and select a coordinate system that makes sense. Personally, since most of my projects use State Plane (US Survey Feet), I prefer to use a State Plane (Meters) system in QGIS to avoid the inevitable issues that always arise when Microstation tries to be helpful and confuse International Feet with Survey Feet merely because the file reports units of "feet".
3. Import your KMZ to QGIS as a layer.
4. In QGIS, export your KMZ to a CADD filetype of your choice - including DGN, DXF, DWG (and SHP!)
5. Create a new ORD / Microstation file using your favorite seed. Set the Geographic Coordinate System to exactly the same system you used in QGIS.
6. Reference the CADD file exported from QGIS. Merge it into your drawing.
7. You can either call it quits here and merely attach your new file to your project using Geographic -> Reprojected, or change the GCS to your project GCS and reproject everything that way.

Once you've done it a few times, it takes no time at all.
