Curb Inlet Elevations Too High Above Curb Despite Placing Them Correctly

I am following the training manual directions on how to place a drainage node, but when I try placing a drop inlet to be at the face of curb it comes in much higher than the actual curb height. I'm not sure what to do to fix this elevation error to get the curb inlet to be level with the top of curb. Please let me know of any suggestions you may have to fix the issue.

  • Hi Melissa,

There could be many potential causes:
    1. What are you using for your elevation reference?  Are you actually identifying it or just using the "active" terrain?
    2. Have you specified a vertical offset when placing the node?
    3. Since you are apparently using the top of curb as your elevation reference, is the 3D cell you are using designed for that situation?  Drop inlets would typically use bottom of curb elevation, so you may need to check the 3D "top" cell to determine where the insertion point is assumed to be.

If none of the above clarify the issue, then I would send your data to Bentley with an SR so they can investigate the source of the problem.  Good luck.
