Hello . I'm Uk based Tech Support for a global Surveying/Construction positioning provider. I'd like to know how my software development team ( based in the US ) can access documentation to better support MX roads formats , particularly the formats relating to road geometry . Many thanks. Peter
Are you aware that MX is a deprecated software, and that Bentley is sundowning support for it? I know that will not stop its use around the world, but you might be interested in the future of design software, not just the past.
There is a Civil Developers forum where you may find more information, and if you are part of the Bentley Developer Network you may still be able to download the SDK.
This board really won't be helpful to you. We are more concered here about how to use the software as it is, as opposed to writing new.Good luck!

Many thanks Mary. Understand and agree with your comments . It seems,in the UK at least , that there is still a heavy reliance on the MX GENIO format for setting-out ( stake-out ) of points and strings on road projects. I'll follow the BDN route and see where that takes me.
Fortunately GENIO is not so complicated format. It is text file based on Fortran (data format) + MX limited number of commands
Unfortunately I don't have MX on my laptop to check if command language reference help file in english is there.
I still have a french one for an instantaneous one. GENIO is described.

Here is an explanation of GENIO format that I wrote many years ago, in case it is of interest.
