I had this happen before and didn't think too much about it maybe just a one-time thing, but now is happening again and again. My data disappears after I save the files on ProjectWise I have noticed it on Extopo files only so maybe there is something to do with that. here are some screenshots with examples
Here are the triangles of the surface:
But now my linework is missing
I don't understand what is going on any help would be appreciated.
OpenRoads Designer Release 3 Update 9 Version 10.09.00.91
ProjectWise 10.00.03.298
Yes, each version of ORD seems to have one corresponding version, but I work weekly (if not daily) with clients that are in two different versions of ORD, 10,08.01.33 and 10.09.00.91. There is not a ProjectWise version listed in the link you shared that would work with both version of ORD.
The broader point is that there is a disconnect between the software Bentley is currently delivering and the needs of the users of that software. As I mentioned, the first and largest impact is Civil design software that does not permit a single user environment to use more than a single version of the software or resulting files. I have two computers because I have clients working in two different versions. What is my path forward once ORD 21R1 is released. Purchase a new workstation replacement laptop, and use 3 different computers?

Hi Steven,
Steven Litzau said:I find it quite interesting, however, that no single version of ProjectWise is certified for the two versions of OpenRoads Designer I currently have clients in.
Which versions are these? As far as I can see, each of the OpenRoads Designer updates (starting with Update 1) was compatible with some corresponding version of ProjectWise.
Please take a look at the compatibility tool under this link (page 3), it will let you find out compatible versions:

Grzegorz, thank you for sharing this. I find it quite interesting, however, that no single version of ProjectWise is certified for the two versions of OpenRoads Designer I currently have clients in. If the answer to a question of something working in a design software is dependent on the version of ProjectWise being run, then there needs to a much more comprehensive approach to your software.
I don't know to what level you have any input into the development of software, but this is just another example of Bentley products not accurately reflecting the real world environments your users work in. There have been many of us now expressing concerns over the schema compatibility issues in OpenRoads Designer and their impact on our ability to do our work. To support the clients we have, I currently have to run one version of ORD on my personal computer because I can't install both needed versions on my work machine. An agency is not going to be able to run different ProjectWise environments and software because a specific combination isn't supported or certified. I think the likelihood that Isaac gets to dictate what version of ProjectWise is run is likely pretty low, I would suspect he is just trying to complete a design effort.
Just sharing some candid thoughts here, at one point I very much felt Bentley was a partner in my efforts to serve my clients. As of late, it feels more and more as though you (as an organization) are disconnected from the real work being done by your clients with the products your provide.
Thanks for reading/listening.
Steve
