Hi,I need help. There is a project file in which (for some reasons) cannot define the GCS Coordinate System.
Is there any way in which I can put Background Maps into my file, without having GCS settings?
The background map requires a coordinate system to be defined for the option in the view attributes to appear.
Steven's recommendation should work but if you cant define a GCS you will need to determine whats preventing the assignment
you can add a background map in view attributes,
Are you not able to define a GCS because the coordinate system is unknown, goofy, or too complicated? If so, you can always define a GCS using the "Define Placemark Monument" tool on the Geographic Toolbar. All you need are at least two points that you can somehow relate to real-world lat/long. You could even take a screenshot of an aerial photo, warp it to fit, and find two points based on that.
