Hi All, I've noticed in a few training videos amongst the various DOT's that some have within their ORD workspace a "Create File" utility (as to if this is a MDL App or VBA sketch, I'm not sure). I have tried locating this file to incorporate into my workspace a few times now with no luck.
Does anybody know where I might be able to find this file for use within my ORD workspace?

Quite a few DOTs have their own custom applications, written for their employees (that may or may not work correctly in a consultant workspace).
You can probably find one of those apps by downloading one of those DOT workspaces and copying their application to the appropriate directory on your computer or network. Of course, at that point, it may or may not function as you expect. If it is a VBA, you may be able to edit it to match your setup. If it is an MDL, you may not be able to use it.
Usually, when I create a new file, I have the choice to choose my seed file. What extra functionality are you looking for?

Thanks Mary. I have tried downloading their Workspaces, but one of them was FDOT, and their workspace is a little more complex than I am used to.
I would like to gain the functionality to be able to create new files, without having to exchange out of the file I am in. Also having a drop down selector of the type of file I want to create (2D, 3D, KMZ Container, DGNLIB) appeals to me. I find myself creating files when working with different alignments and terrains, pretty frequently to ensure I break my work out according to Bentley's recommendations for ORD.
MD DOT Has a File Naming Wizard VBA. It has a help Document. I believe it may be Password Protected, but that's not insurmountable, if you get my drift...

That may not be too difficult to accomplish with a VBA. If you already have a VBA downloaded, you may be able to make a copy and edit it to meet your standards without too much trouble.
Haha. Got it. Thank you.
