Element Profile by slope from element

ORD 2021R1 Update 1 (10.10.01.03)

I'm having an issue with element profiles, in this case projecting to the offside edge of a diverge nose (highlighted).

The mainline channel is profiled using 0% from the corridor element, its profile is on the left, and is as expected

The nose profile is created at -2.5% from the mainline channel using Profile By Slope From Element, but gives steps and bumps as can be seen on the left profile.

These irregularities are not present in the geometry, the superelevation, the profiles of the corridor elements, or the duplicate element of the mainline channel, so where are they coming from and how can I remove them?

  • As an update, carrying on through the merges and diverges, the issues persists even on spirals where there isn't superelevation turnover, so it appears to be an issue with spirals and their normals.

On every single fillet the quick profile transition has had to be redone by hand, as the tool doesn't seem understand two grades with a curve between,

Also a different diverge is on a large radius curve so the spiral issue isn't present, but when projecting out to a complex that has a single offset until the end of the taper, then a varying offset for the transition between hard shoulder widths from the mainline and slip road, the issue's back, with steps and zigzags where there's no reason for them.
