I had posted a response to a post about exporting models, and commented that I was having trouble exporting in OpenRoads. A recommendation was to post in the OpenRoads forum to get a better response, due to the special element types and connections in ORD.
Basically, I am trying to export some models from a file where I have already created alignments and corridors, just to get the separate different alignment and corridor models out of the file. When using the Save As or Export functions, and selecting the specific models I want, the resulting output file also includes any models that contain alignments and a connected 3D model, even though not selected.
My hope is to avoid having to reference and merge data then have to recreate the alignments and corridors in a new file. And without just importing models in a new file, leaving me with the default model that can't be deleted and will contain nothing.

The results of Export to V8 DGN will depend on the export settings and what is included in the models selected to be exported. For example, if you have a Default model with an alignment and plan drawing and plan sheet models generated from the Drawing Production tools then the Plan Sheet models could be selected to be exported to a new DGN but it would only exclude the export of the Default model if the export options had the refences set to merge during export. Also, for any internal references (references from within the same DGN) to be merged the following configuration variable needs to be set _USTN_MERGE_INTERNALREFERENCES_SAVEASV8=1.
