Subsurface utilities changing fittings location from invert to (top point/soffit) of conduit

I am trying to use "Extract Utility From Graphic" function to model utilities from polylines in OpenRoads 2021 series 1.

I set the vertical offset to 0.00 from elements elevations, so the conduits are modeled at the same soffit level.

My problem is that the default fitting/end point of conduit comes at invert level, so the conduits have deviation at end. See pictures below:

Polyline to be extracted                                                Extracted conduit from graphic

Is is possible to set the Fittings/End points feature definition for Subsurface utilities to Soffit Shape Orientation level instead of Invert?

Best regards,

Marian

  • Hi,

This looks like a bug in the software - it appears that the problem occurs if the "Shape Orientation" property in the feature definition of the conduit is not set to invert. In this case, the software needs to adjust the invert of the node, and it looks like this isn't happening. I'll make sure that a defect is logged for this.

As a workaround you could try opening a FlexTable of the nodes, find the column for the inverts, then right-click on the column title and select Global Edit from the pop-up menu. Change the "Operation" to Subtract, and enter a value that's the same as the size of the conduit. This should lower the node inverts, and therefore the ends of the conduits as well.
