I'm going to use graphics created with InRoads Power Survey SS2 to import into a file created with ORD 2020 R3 U9. Then follow the steps used in the centerline creation and R/W creation from the LEARN ROW fundamentals videos. I assume this should work.
The other item I was asked to do was generate a report for the alignment as is usually done in INR_PS SS2 (by the other office; I haven't don't an alignment; this is my first). I don't see any example of this in ORD that I can see. Suggestions?
Thanks!
ALG files can be imported into OpenRoads. See https://communities.bentley.com/products/road___site_design/w/road_and_site_design__wiki/51601/video-how-to-import-native-inroads-alg-into-openroads-designer-connect-edition
Reports can be generated as shown in this video https://communities.bentley.com/products/road___site_design/w/road_and_site_design__wiki/35099/video-generating-a-profile-report-at-a-specified-interval
Hey, Paul!
First, I try to not let things slip quite this badly. It's been a rough several weeks. Secondly, thank you very much for this answer! it's exactly what I needed!
Since this is my first SS2 alignment, I think were I to proceed, I would have to keep the "alg" file along with my "dgn" file to make sure I had all the graphics and information. Once I have imported this information into ORD, do I still need the "alg" file every time I open the ORD file? Or is in now all in one ORD file?
Again, thanjks for your help. Sorry I took so long getting back to you!
Once the ALG has been imported into the ORD file as an alignment, the alignment is saved as part of the ORD file.
SS2 required separate non-graphic data files to store civil information. ORD actually can store all of the rules and definitions as part of the graphics, so we no longer need data files. You have the option to import and export data files, but those are only for communicating information outside of ORD. If everything is being designed in ORD from here on out, you can probably archive off the ALG after its been imported.

Good, good! I had an idea that was the case since all indications moving forward with ORD is everything is in one file rather than multiple, e.g.: dgn and alg files to do an alignment under SS2.
Thank you, MsB!
You are quite welcome :-)
