So we are trying to work as though Ss2 is not available where absolutely possible.

RE: SS10 Deprecation announcement

We still have a project that will be active for a couple of years being designed using InRoads/Power InRoads SS2. In the past, we have had entire offices running versions which were off support due to being unable to migrate until some custom add-on was recompiled. This has never proved to be a stumbling block and we are going to assume that we can continue using Ss10 even though it is coming off of support. We actually have some users having to use Ss2 because some application does not function 100% properly in Ss10. So as of right now, even the SELECT Server Licensing is still operational.

Our CONNECT Workspace still needs a lot of work before we can implement is as a full design platform. And our resources have been reduced so it is not even one of our higher priorities for now.

RE: SS10 Deprecation announcement

I completely agree. As a consultant, my company is contractually obligated to design products using the software mandated by our clients. TxDOT is our biggest client, and Bentley's as well. If they aren't ready to upgrade, we literally can't upgrade ourselves.

Similar to what Jeff described, even if TxDOT officially made the switch today, legacy projects spanning multiple years would still be completed using SS10. There needs to be a lot of overlapping support for SS10 and ORD to cover this scenario.

If Bentley really wants to speed up the adoption rate for ORD, they need to raise awareness with DOT's and municipalities rather than applying IT policies that throw consultants into turmoil. The current messaging from Bentley comes across as pushy, pointless, and immature.
