In ORD 2021 R1, when creating plan and profiles, I am using the Annotation Group, Plan Grid. The labels for the grid lines are coming in square to the view but not parallel to the grid lines. What am I missing so that the text is aligned with the grid lines as the alignments in sheet views are always skew to the drawing borders? If I rotate the view/reference, the text remains square to the screen but not parellel to the grid lines.. See image.
That sounds like View Independent text. I believe you can check that in the properties. I'm not sure how to fix it off the top of my head.

As part of my due diligence, I checked the example in Training and Examples. The Plan Grid Annotation Group was not used, I tried it and the text is orientated parallel to the sheet and not to the grid lines. This a bug in the software as there is no option for orientating the text parallel to the grid lines.
Thank you Mary, your answer should work.

That may be worth filing a service ticket on. If there's a setting we don't know about, they should be able to identify it, and if it is a bug (it may well be!!) the information will at least get logged for eventual correction.
While the solution may not be ideal, you may be able to get what you need by dropping the labels to text (I think that's possible), changing the text to view dependent, and using Active Angle Assistant to get it rotated to your grid. Not ideal, but it might get the job done for now.
Thank you Mary.
I will put in a service request. Rather than have the Plan Grid annotate the lines at an angle, I will just not put the grid lines on the drawing until someone notices, I can always follow your suggestion for rotating the text.
I just want to follow up that you did indeed submit a service request for this? I have encountered this problem too. It seems like a bug to me.
