I am trying to create a terrain using USGS 1/3 arc-second DEM geotiff file. The terrain import tool does not seem to understand the data and imports nothing. The raster manager also does not seem to be able to render these .tif files.
Is there any way to use these files in Openroads or do I have to use a GIS software to convert them first?

If the number of point is to big Openroads won't create a terrain so for GetoTif I create first a scalable terrain because this type of file can handle an almost infinite number of point/triangle (versus openroads terrain wich are limited). Then I extract an openroads terrain in the selected area. you can find all the tools do to this in the Reality Modeling Workflow.

Unfortunately it is not working with the USGS geotiff DEM files. It must be the files themselves. They are now cloud optimized geotiff (since end of 2020). Openroads must not be able to read the file correctly.
