Hello everyone,
I am presently trying to re-create some fairly complex corridors from SS2 to ORD using a technique for creating the ditches on both sides of the road corridors by using templates that use additional vertical alignments for each of the two ditches (LT_Ditch and RT_Ditch) ..<See Fig. 1> , and attachment DITCHES.ITL. Making the template <See Fig 2>, and using the the profile, (Red = LT_Ditch, Green = RT_Ditch, Purple = CL of Road) - <See Figure 3>. To make the corridor model <Fig 4 and Fig 5>
The trouble is, ORD technology seems to have removed the "Linear Vertical" feature in create template that I use to determine the elevations (using the above mentioned vertical alignments) of all my ditches, (and whether or not they even exist) and replaced it with something else. This was a fairly handy work flow, as I did not need independent horizontal alignments to model each of the ditches, and I was able to control whether or not to even have the ditches by simply removing sections of the corresponding vertical ditch alignments of the corridor when ever it was required. It also allowed me fairly good control of all the ditches using only one horizontal alignment, and made making changes to the route much easier. Then, Bentley removed that "Linear Vertical" control option.. and I don't understand what they expect us to use in its place to search for the vertical alignments.
Can anybody help me with this? I have sent several emails out (including 1 to Bentley) without any results.
Thanks all in advance,
Mike McWilliams

It seems you're using target aliasing to target your ditch linear. I didn't realize they took that out of ORD. You can set a single null point in your template to a vertical corridor type point control. I typically call that null point "RT_Ditch_Profile". Your template will need to have your ditch bottom set follow that point. Set a display rule on your ditch component to control its display if needed.

Open Corridor Objects, go to the Point Control section, add new point control, change the type to Vertical set "Point" to what is used in the template controlling the ditch bottom. Follow the prompts to select plan view graphic (2D linear with your ditch profile) and next prompt will use active profile or desired.
