What is the best way to check what version of ORD was used to create a file?

What is the best way to check what version of ORD was used to create a file? I heard there was a version checker but was unable to find it in the ORD folder.

  • Hmmm, good and more complicated question.
The dgn file you can create in MicroStation, OpenRoads, OpenRail, PowerDraft, Bentley Map,... in another application with PowerPlatform. I am not sure if we can find out the version of mother application where was file created. I can see a mischmatch version of last editing in dgn file properties (for example OpenRoads 10.14.4.4 :)  in Properties dialog.)

In additional a schema of Open application is written into dgn file (application where you create Open element). The schema can be downgraded by File/Downgrade civil version.

In additional you can move the dgn from one Open application schema (OpenRoads/Rail/Site) to another different Open application schema. This tool (VersionChecker in past) is called CivilFileManager.exe now in versions 10.09 and 10.10.

It would be fine to have one dialog for all this information.

  • Hi Steven.

Version Checker has been renamed to Civil File Manager. This should help:

Civil File Manager - OpenRoads | OpenSite Wiki - OpenRoads | OpenSite - Bentley Communities
