Posting regarding ORD 10.10, but his applies to other versions too.
I'm frustrated with how unintuitive or inconsistent some of the geometry tools are. Or maybe I'm just overlooking something obvious.
Here's one example:
I can use the Horizontal > arc > Arc between elements > simple arc tool to create a new horizontal curve into a previously created horizontal complex using the alt key to select the individual bearings. this actually places the complex INTO the alignment. Hooray!
But.... when I use the vertical > curves > profile curve between elements > parabola between elements tool to create a new vertical curve into a previously created vertical complex using the alt key to select the infividual grades, it does NOT place the curve into the complex. Furthermore, if I use the Append Profile Element tool to try to add the curve into the complex it prompts to "Locate element to add/insert". this prompt gives me false hope that the selected curve element will be placed into the vertical complex at the proper location. Sadly, a check of integrity shows this not to be the case.
