Has anyone been having issues with ORD Templates utilizing multiple switches?
Thanks
Gary
Not me. What issues are you having specifically and what version of ORD are you using?
Steven,
We are using 2021 R1 (and R2) and have noticed that using more than 2 switches (null points controlled through parametric constraints that are in turn tied to display rules) in a corridor and a given template drop will simply not work. The same template methodology worked in SS10 just fine. Why is there a limitation on the number of switches that can be used now in ORD?

Eddie, that's odd. Would you mind sharing an ITL?

I was aware of an issue with superelevation being applied that would conflict with triggers, but not specifically switches.
Eddie, perhaps that's it. I don't use the built-in superelevation tools and so can't say much about that. I didn't notice that there was an ITL attached to your post so I'll try that out.
However, your first post got me really worried because not being able to use more than two switches would really rock my world.
I made a dummy ITL (attached) that has four switch-controlled blob-like components.
I ran it down a dummy corridor with a dummy alignment and turned all four switches on at random stations. Fortunately, all four blob-like components turned on! Phew. I can sleep tonight.

Eddie, I took a quick look at your ITL. On a plain simple alignment with no super, no point controls, no anything, and just parametrics to control the switches, they seemed to behave as expected. I noticed that your wall search components are seeking a particular feature definition. Now that's something that I have had problems with. I used to use the InRoads equivalent with symbologies a lot, but I had problems with it in ORD years ago and gave up on it a long time ago. I don't trust the horizontal feature constraints anymore and have totally given up on them. Maybe I should try again, but maybe it's not worth the risk.
Thanks Steven, appreciate you looking at this! We may try to revamp a little bit and eliminate those horizontal feature constraints to see if that allows us to enable more than two switches at a time. Otherwise, I'm scratching my head over what could be causing this (other than the rumor about superelevation).
