For review and submittal purposes I've created container files for all of the categories of references (corridors, terrain, centerlines, ROW, drainage, etc.). I then created a master container which references the individual containers with live nesting turned on. The goal is for this master file to be the main file for reviews. However, temporary dimensions are not working properly in this master file. I am not able to label the slopes of end conditions. The temporary dimension tool basically won't let me pick a start point outside of the pavement subgrade. See screenshot below. Is this just an issue with nested references or is there something else going on? Thanks in advance!
Hi Matt, unfortunately I've found the temporary dimension tool only works when you open dynamic cross sections for the specific corridor that has those points. Did you run cross sections based on an alignment or model the slopes separately from your pavement?
Thanks for the response Kristina. The slopes are a part of the pavement corridor and I opened the dynamic XS by picking the corridor, not the alignment.
Matt - Are you trying to temporary dimension the points/components in another corridor adjacent to the corridor in which you pick to cut the dynamic cross sections? If yes, this tool won't wont. It only works for the points/components in the corridor that you pick.
All of the components are contained within the single corridor. If I go into the corridor drawing, I can use the temporary dimensions fine. The issue only appears when I use the tool in a referenced corridor.
Yes. The temporary dimension tool on works in a live corridor file. If you reference this said corridor into a master file in which you pick it to cut the dynamic cross sections, the tool will not work. In one of my convos with Bentley, they have said that this would get fixed in later releases. I dont know when that will happen...
