Does anyone know if there is a keyin to minimize and maximize the ribbon? This is the little "carrot" arrow in the top right of the screen next to the Search Ribbon and just below the universal file close "X" button.
My guess is that there isn't one.
I tried recording a macro just clicking on the arrow to minimize the ribbon, and then expanding it again.
I got this message when I stopped recording.
Typically if a keyin for a tool/command is available it will be captured in the macro recorder.
I also looked through the RIBBON keyins in the expanded keyin window. Nothing jumped out at me that would collapse or expand the ribbon.

Thanks Rod for looking! That was my suspicion. Even if I manually minimize the ribbon, it doesn't seem to stay minimized if I switch the focus from the plan view (i.e., View 1) to the Cross Section view (this could be view 2 thru 8). This behavior seems like a bug to me.
For power MicroStation or ORD users that may have a lot of Accudraw Shortcut commands (key-ins) already established and memorized, it sure would be nice to reclaim some of the precious screen real-estate by minimizing the ribbon, AND having the ribbon stay fully minimized until the user forces it to be maximized.
What happens if you minimize the ribbon and close ORD? When I do that and reopen ORD, the ribbon is minimized and seems to set the default state to minimized; I can change view, change models or even change files it will remain minimized. It will open up when I select an item from the menu bar but it will roll right back up after I pick the tool.
ORD, and I assume MicroStation, seems to take the ribbon behavior based on the state it was in when last closed. If I open the ribbon with the little arrow in the upper right and close ORD, the next time I open ORD the default state of the ribbon seems to be open; it behaves just the way you describe. If the ribbon is minimized when I close, the ribbon is closed by default the next time I open ORD.
