Greetings,
How to copy vertical alignment from one DGN to the other DGN in profile view. The vertical alignment is created in Civil 3d and need to copy in the profile view to calculate the earthwork quantity in openroads designer.
Your earliest response will be highly appreciated.
Regards
Ilyas
I'm not exactly sure how copying the profile helps you with earthwork quantities. Are you sure you need the profile in this second DGN? Is there a template/corridor that needs to be applied or is their an "item type" associated? I'll proceed with the following to answer your question, however you may want to verify you're going about the quantities workflow correctly. Open the file you need the profile copied to. Within that file, reference the desired DGN containing the desired profile. Use the F4 function to search for "Project profile to element" . Start by selecting the referenced alignment/profile desired you'd like to copy (follow prompts - also in the lower left hand corner of OpenRoads), then select the "to" element (2D alignment you'd like to add the profile to. You should now see your profile on the alignment in the active DGN. If something doesn't seem to work, ensure the profile desired is set to "active" in the 1st DGN being referenced. The way OpenRoads functions will allow you to use this tool using 2D horizontal alignment containing the "active profile" desired. The tool will also allow you to select from the profile window, however that second step of the tool you will need to select the active 2D alignment you'd like your profile added to. Here's the quantities and earthwork BentleyLearn link to verify the correct workflow. View Learning Path (bentley.com)
