Shapefile not referencing in correctly in ORD CE - 2021 Release 1 (Ver 10.10.1.3)

I'm attempting to reference in a shapefile to an ORD file and it's not lining up correctly with my survey data. The first thing I did when I created the ORD file was set the GCS, but still having issues with the shapefile not referencing in correctly.

I opened the .dgn file in Microstation V8i and the shapefile and survey data appear to line up correctly.

Is there any kind of workaround so I can get the survey data and the shapefile to line up correctly in ORD?

Thanks!

UPDATE:

So, I created a new DGN file in PowerGEOPAK and added the shapefile and it aligns up with my survey data. I opened the file in OpenRoads and everything is still lined up. Not exactly sure why I can't create the file in OpenRoads to begin with, but that's the workaround I found that works.

  • That option isn't available when attaching the shapefile.

If you don't get the Geographic - Reprojected option that usually means that you don't have the corresponding .prj file that goes with the .shp file. In your case you should also have a Parcels.prj in the same folder as the Parcels.shp file.

When a Shapefile doesn't line up I usually  attach a Bing Maps background, or open location Google Maps to verify the dgn data has the correct GCS and is in the correct spot. Either the dgn data, or the attached Shapefile should register correctly.

Based on that result you can better troubleshoot where the problem is.
