Display Point In Cross Section

Hi,

I need to annotate the "floating" point in the screenshot below, and to have two elevation for the curb.

Although the point is defined in the cross section template as a point with horizontal and vertical constraint and  also have feature definition, it is not displayed and I can't define annotation.

Is there a way to manipulate the template so I will get this point displayed?

Thank you,

Chen

  • I have a similar and have found two ways to do it, neither very satisfactory.

This appears to be a null point.  You can show null points in the model and include them in cross sections is to set "Include Null Point Linear Feature Display" to True in the corridor feature definition.  The catch is that all null points in the corridor are displayed; you can't pick and choose which to display.  If this is the only null point in your corridor, this is definitely the way to go.

The second method requires creating a simple component that includes the point.  The catch here, obviously, is that you have added a component to your model that you don't really want.  Make sure "Exclude From Top/Bottom Mesh" is unchecked in the component properties and assign a feature definition that creates a Construction class element or puts it on a unique level or both.  You will probably want to put the point on a different level so you can easily turn off its display.
