I am trying to add a break in a conduit without adding a full structure. The intent is to have a break in the pipe so I can have a vertical bend but every node type draws in a full structure.
I would use a transition in this case. You can set the 3D symbology for the transition so that it's not noticeable - for example by using a cell that models a small ball - which is what the feature definition for a new conflict node does, so you could use that cell and adjust the scale.
Jessica, perhaps a Transition node may help? See link below.https://communities.bentley.com/products/hydraulics___hydrology/w/hydraulics_and_hydrology__wiki/12703/cross-section-vs-transition-for-modeling-slope-or-size-change

Jessica,
The availability of a null node would depend on the configuration you are using. I don't believe that either of the Bentley delivered configurations provide this. I do build them into the configurations we develop for our clients. That is usually a simple cross in plan and a sphere in 3D.
