Hello,
I'd like to annotate the manholes according to this example:
The first 2 lines are possible to do,
The last 2 lines I'd like to have the levels of the connecting conduits and the feature name it is connected to. In that case it is clear to seen in top view what the several elevations are.
The text favorite looks like this:
Gunther,
The mechanism here is going to depend on the version of the software you are using. If you are in one of the 10.10 products, you will be looking for the Manhole Element Manager content under Drainage & Utilities > Drainage. In there will be Connecting Link conduit Invert elevations and an Outgoing Invert. Just a note, unfortunately this will not work if the Drainage Options are set to use US Survey Foot.
As an interim solution until that gets remedied, if you are only needing the label in the plan view you might be able to generate a Civil Labeler label that takes three inputs, the node for the top two lines, and then an incoming and outgoing conduit. I haven't yet developed labels that leverage different D&U targets, but the theory should hold that this would work.
I hope that helps.
Steve

Hello Steven,
This option works almost as expected: (Even in a metric setting)
Is it possible to only give a result if the value exists? Otherwise there are a lot of zero values.
Good to hear. Yes, the Metric and even International Foot units work great, it's just US Survey Foot that doesn't work at this time.
Unfortunately, I am not aware of a way to omit/include values based on whether they are applicable to a given node, so my configuration has 6 Text Favorites for only an exiting pipe, and then 1 to 5 inverts with the outgoing. I would love the ability to just get a list of the conduits exist, I have it on a list to make sure an enhancement has bee requested, but haven't submitted that yet. If I am wrong on that, I would love to be corrected!
Hi Steven,
I think this should be corrected. The major competitor of ORD has this ability already.
Kind regards
Gunther
You will certainly not get any argument from me. There are a number of things that Civil 3D has figured out that are still difficult or not possible in ORD. I would suggest you make Bentley aware of the need through a service request to ask for an enhancement to be filed. I haven't yet done so, but it is on my list of SR's that I would like to submit.
Yes - please create a SR for this issue. I have looked into recently, and I can't find a neat way to do this at the moment. What I think we need is to be able to create a text favorite with a conditional statement, so that it can test whether a value is valid before it tries to annotate it.
I have reported and it will be adjusted in a next version.
Sorry to revive an old thread. Has the ability to create conditional labels been implemented? I would like to create node labels like Gunther but am not seeing a way to filter out the connections that do not exist.
I haven't tested it, but it should be fixed in the new release (2022 release 1).
