View Stationing - InRoads V8i

Have the options on regular stations for Direction (up station & down station) and Placement (Left, Right, In, Out) been removed in InRoads V8i?  I am not seeing those options in the new tree format for View Stationing.  If they have been removed, what is the process for changing the Direction to be Up Station?

  • Todd,

I copied the following from an existing document that explains the new methodology.  I hope this helps.

"For consistency with the rest of the software, the settings for Justification have been replaced by the justification on the text itself.  While the concepts of Left, Right, In, and Out have remained for Placement, the concepts of Parallel / Perpendicular for Orientation and Up Station / Down Station for Direction have been replaced.  These concepts are now accomplished by manipulating the values for Leader Angle and the text justification and angles.

For example, to see Cardinal Stations as they would have appeared in the previous versions with settings of Perpendicular, Up Station, Left and Right Center, set the Segment 1 Angle to 90º Relative to Alignment, the text Rotation to 180º, Angle Relative to Object, the text Justification to Left Center and toggle off Segment 2.

To see them as they would have appeared with settings of Perpendicular, Down Station, Left and Right Center, set the Segment 1 Angle to 90º Relative to Alignment, the text Rotation to , Angle Relative to Object, the text Justification to Right Center and toggle off Segment 2.

To see them as they would have appeared with settings of Parallel, Up Station, Left, and Right Center, set the Segment 1 Angle to 90º Relative to Alignment, the Segment 2 Angle to Relative to Alignment, the text Rotation to , Angle Relative to Object and the text Justification to Right Center.

To see them as they would have appeared with settings of Parallel, Down Station, Left, and Right Center, set the Segment 1 Angle to 90º Relative to Alignment, the Segment 2 Angle to 180º Relative to Alignment, the text Rotation to , Angle Relative to Object and the text Justification to Right Center.

The text offset may also need to be adjusted to achieve the desired results, but through manipulating the various settings provided, all combinations previously found in the software are possible."

    Thanks,
