Hello,
I need some guidance on how to display utilities on the roadway profile.
the way I've done it so far is by creating a profile run of my utility. However, this only works on one specific file, and I am not able to reference this file in the sheet where I have my plan-profile sheets.
my goal is to be able to show both utility profile and roadway profile at the same time.
thanks in advance!
Have you tried projecting the utility on to the profile via method outlined in this wiki?

We have done a lot of work on the Project Profile Run tool for 2021 Release 2, to improve the results when a profile run isn't in the same direction as the roadway alignment for example. As Marcus says, this is the tool to use.
Jon/Marcus-
I may be wrong here, but I think the original question was how to project a utility to a profile. The video shows how to project a drainage profile run. How would a user project a utility, like a watermain?
I could see a workflow where you would project the 2d geometry or 3d linear representing this water main. But, this would only give you a single line sting in profile. Is there a way to project a utility that would give a "depth" (showing the top and bottom of the pipe)?
Marc
Marc, I have not watched this specific video, but the process would hold for utility content. The one caveat is that we will need to create a profile run from the utility links that we would like to project. This is not something we would otherwise need as we tend to model our non-gravity systems with bends that don't require notes at every direction change (horizontal or vertical).
