The Problem:
I have a group of cross section drawing models that were not keeping a terrain reference drawing displayed. I solved the problem by changing the Synchronized View setting to "From Design Model" (instead of "All Properties"). I am not sure how this happened because I have another group of cross section drawing models that display the terrain reference drawing.
The Question:
Is there information detailing the settings for saved views and synchronizing them with the cross section drawing models?
Hi Keith,
The latest developments are that you should set your Sheet Seeds with Drawing Models that use "From Design Model".
OpenRoads Designer 2021 Release 1 Drawing Production Updates Sheet Display Management - YouTube
This will keep you Cross Sections in sync with View attributes and Level settings of your Default-3D model in View 1.
No need to change any of these Saved Views once it is all set up.

Hi Mark,
Thanks for sharing.
View 1 is a very important detail of this functionality. The significance of that is particularly noticeably in Cross Section drawings workflow.
A traditional workflow, as proposed by Bentley, has involved the use of 2D model / view in View 1 and 3d model / view in View 2. Such views arrangement will typically be created with View Control > 2 Views Plan/3D or F9. However, users may not pay attention to the need of having Default-3D model and 3d models attached in View 1. Without re-arranging the models / views this new functionality involving the use of From Design Model setting will not work.
Perhaps a modification to the VBA to suit cross sections drawing production?

Hi Mariuz,
The problem here is the inconsistency of models that are used as the "base" design model, eg. Plans use the Default 2d model, Cross Sections use the 3d model and Profiles use the Profile space model.
Normally, the 2d model is the default for view 1, so I'm not sure what the answer is here...
If my understanding is correct, assuming most users will use the "From Design Model" option as standard, I think a solution is simple:
Both 1 and 2 above should be provided in delivered workspaces.
The issue here is that current workspaces have not been optimized to the new functionality involving the "From Design Model" and the "View 1" aspect needs highlighted in Bentley's documentation / training material.
The additional design seed is easy to prepare but the VBA requires VBA macros skills.
