Improve terrain by adding 2D breaklines

How to improve Terrain by adding additional breaklines from 2D?

In Inroads it was easy to import breaklines and drape to intercept surface. Text interpolation tool in Openroads is not working for lines as it is meant to import contours which are in one plane but breaklines should be projected onto surface.

  • The workaround:

    1. Create 2D DGN and add those 2D additional breaklines.

    2. Reference the Terrain Model (3D)

    4. Set Active Terrain and Create the Profile for each 2D breakline

    5. Set the projected terrain as active profile for those breaklines

    6. Back to terrain model (3D) and reference the Default-3D model for those draped breaklines

    7. Add those breaklines as "Breakline" to the terrain.
