Hi Chuck,

Install the Clearview font TTF files into your C:\Windows\Fonts folder on the computer that has OpenRoads SignCAD installed and then you can access the Clearview fonts from the Text dialog in the Maryland standard (Preferences>Text Font). If you have another standard selected (ex: U.S. 2009), then pick the More Fonts button in the Text Font dialog to access the Clearview fonts.

Hi Chuck,

Maryland purchased SignCAD back in 2007 and when we added the Maryland standard to the software it was requested that the ClearviewHwy fonts be included in the Text Font dialog. The other states that have the ClearviewHwy fonts listed in the Text Font dialog also requested that feature.

Kara,

Can you explain to me the list of states with Clearview fonts available? How are certain states in the list but not others? In particular, how did Maryland come to be in the list. We only recently started using SignCAD as far as I know.

The things I learn on these newsgroups!

OpenRoads SignCAD is compatible with the ClearviewHwy fonts but does not include them (see Fonts in OpenRoads SignCAD - OpenRoads | OpenSite Wiki - OpenRoads | OpenSite - Bentley Communities).

To use the ClearviewHwy fonts in OpenRoads SignCAD, install them into the C:\Windows\Fonts folder on your computer.

Locate the ClearviewHwy TTF (.ttf) files and select them. Right-clickon the TTF files and select the Install for all users option from the menu that opens.
The ClearviewHwy fonts will install into the C:\Windows\Fonts folder.

If the Clearview fonts are installed on your computer but they do not show in the Text Font dialog, then check the standard of your working file since not all state standards in OpenRoads SignCAD have the Clearview fonts available for selection from the Text Font dialog (see Selecting Standards in OpenRoads SignCAD - OpenRoads | OpenSite Wiki - OpenRoads | OpenSite - Bentley Communities).

The following state standards have the Clearview fonts available from the Text Font dialog in OpenRoads SignCAD:

Arizona
Arkansas
Illinois
Iowa
Louisiana
Maryland
Michigan
South Carolina
Texas
Vermont

If you have a state standard selected that does not show the Clearview fonts in the Text Font dialog (ex: Pennsylvania), then pick Preferences>Text Font and press the More Fonts button to select the ClearviewHwy font, style and size. Press OK to both dialog boxes.

There is also an XML file pointed to by the variable MS_FONTCONFIGFILE that is used to show or hide certain font files and also to specify special characters if necessary. In our Workspace, we are using it to hide deprecated fonts while still allowing their use in legacy files. Users cannot use them on new elements but an old file that uses them will still display properly.

Pardon my ignorance, but what is "PB"?

You may need to look at your configuration to see what variables define the paths to your fonts, so that you can include your SC font paths.
