When i try to draw just a line & snap to pipes in profile it still says "not snappable" but when I move to mh in profile it works? I can also snap to existing ground profile line & proposed... If i can figure that out i feel these labels will return to normal. Also, when i first open the first profile model all the labels are correct for a split second then jump back to expression.

RE: Civil Labeler placing text instead of values in cross section

Larry/ Kelly:

I would highly suggest that both of you take a look at the Drainage and Utilities Text Favorites Imperial.dgnlib stored by default at

C:\ProgramData\Bentley\OpenRoads Designer CE 10.11\Configuration\Organization-Civil\_Civil Default Standards - Imperial\Dgnlib\Feature Definitions.

You can use this file along with the Drainage and Utilities Features Annotations Imperial.dgnlib stored at the same location to see the pattern for the new(er) expressions. Bentley has actually made things much more simple in that there are fewer locations from which to pull information.

If all else fails, go and see what Bentley actually created! ;-)

Best Regards,

Sometimes when I'm about to labeling pipe in profile I can just select pipe but the rest of time it says "not snappable" & I feel its because it knows I'm not selecting the correct entity (pipe in prof) or that something is wrong.. For example; the conduit catalog pulls material "Concrete" & I had it changed to custom "CONC": If it lost that lib connection would it not recognize it as a conduit? Are all these types of settings so sensitive to change, then pipe to be not recognized? Since this is my first workspace/workset/dgnlib/styles I've been making a lot of customized changes on-the-fly & that's never good for any CAD prog..

Much of the coding has changed here. The "Manhole Element Manager", for instance, seems to no longer applicable in 2021R2 or 2022R1. That is but merely one example. Go back and check your expressions. It will take a bit of rebuilding, but I have a lot of these and it was only an afternoons worth of work. Nice that Bentley tells us these things, heh?
