Hi everyone,
I'm using OpenRoads Designer CE, and I have an issue relating to references as below:
+ I have attached a baseline A from file A (have vertical profile) to file B.
+ I draw baseline B in file B
+ I open profile view of baseline A in file B, and I want to show intersection of baseline B into profile of baseline A.
But when I am using "Profile Creation - profile intersection point", I can not pick the baseline A attached in file B previously for locating element to show intersection.
Am I doing something wrong?
Please find dgn file here: File A.dgnFile B.dgn
Update:
I tried to active profile of baseline A in file A (first picture below)
But in file B that I still can not pick the baseline A for locating element for showing intersection (second picture below)
Please help.
Thank you.
Try the following to help diagnose any potential issues:
-Check levels and attributes of profile view in case the element profile point is being placed on construction class.
-Check Properties of your 2D Element's Feature Symbology that it contains a "Profile Intersection" Element Template.
-Within the profile view select all to check quantity shows any hidden additional component/point possibly overlapped by another element.
-Do both files have a geographic coordinate system (attached coincident or projected) and have units of resolution match (design file settings).
-Check for any errors showing in Civil Message Center.

(Version 10.10.21.04)
From your 1st image, you did not set the profile active but clear it. The alignment A already had its profile active. Why did you clear it? Without the active profile, the intersecting point cannot be shown on the alignment B's profile. Clear Active Profile = Deactivate the active profile associated with the alignment. Does it make sense? Anyhow, see below. I am in the alignment B file and able to display the intersecting point from alignment A's profile onto the alignment B's profile. If you still have issue, I would suggest that you log a ticket with Bentley...
Hi TT,
Hi T T
Could you help to send your both file A & B, which you did.
The issue is that you are working in file B and look at profile A that is in the reference. The profile view of profile A in file B is a reference. As such you can't add anything on it. So you can't add the intersection with line B. You must do it in file A.
An exception is the 3D cut that you can add along profile A in file B.
That is a limitation we are aware and are working on to see what can be done. What we cant to add is the capability to add an "overlay" on the referenced profile view so that different users can add different information onto the profile without having to change the source (the alignment file). Actually many users are duplicating the alignment which is not something very good. Not single source of truth !

Thank you, jpln.
You are right. I can not add anything in reference profile.
