Named Boundaries in a copied DGN; Printing

So I had file with named boundaries and annotations in the sheet models.  After placing named boundaries, I needed to make a change in the project so I quickly did a save as with new file name and made the changes with new annotations..  All the geometry and linework copied just fine but the annotations are in the new file.

When I go to print to PDF, it keeps defaulting to the old file.  I don't how else to ask this, but  How do I get the new file to recognize the new file when I print?

  • MaryB,

Yes I am trying to use the print organizer from within the Sheet Index.  If I delete the old sheets, I will delete the sheet models too, right?  That's where a bunch of annotation is located.

Interestingly, printing not from the Print Organizer and just an individual sheet works

I did not recreate the sheets when I copied the file with named boundaries already placed.  I already had a bunch of annotation in this case too and didn't want to lose it,

I see what you mean about the reference file path.  I'll try that... If I cannot get it to work, I can just print old school one sheet at a time and then bundle the PDF.

  • I don't use the Sheet Index, so you have lost me there. I've always made Print Organizer sets by hand. Someone else may have to address the implications of that - it's possible there's some sort of static definition that hasn't updated.

Printing individually, from within the sheet itself, will print that active sheet. Print Organizer...should...but there could be something going on with the way the named views were saved into the definition.

Are your sheets showing the old sheet annotation file, the new sheet annotation file, or both somehow? I'm not entirely clear on what exactly your setup is. Are the sheets in the same file as the Named Boundaries, or are they in a different file?
