When importing 3D shapefile linestrings into my utility model using modelbuilder - ORD does not take into account the element elevations at each bend. I have a 3D linestring within my shapefile representing a ventilation conduit.
Thank you for your response, and thank you for filing an issue. Sad to hear that ORD has regressed.

I suspect you are running 10.10.01.03. I have seen this same behavior and have a defect filed against the issue, #1140466. Unfortunately, there is a further regression in the newest version where elevation information is ignored completely on import. If doing an offset from a surface gets you close enough for your needs you can use the Civil Geometry Vertical tools to generate a new profile for the line and set it active. That should get you close while maintaining your attribution.

Hope that helps.
