I've been working on the layout of a subdivision and can't get the InRoads Locate tools out of my skull. Those things were a beautiful set of tools for laying out COGO Points.
So, does anyone know how I can do a very simple Direction - Alignment intersection? I have a point on the interior road ROW and I just want to 'occupy' it, turn 90 degrees from that ROW line and project that bearing back to intersect the subdivision boundary to establish the back corner of the lot. InRoads was SO easy for this type of layout. Is there anywhere in OpenRoads where a direction can intersect an Alignment and place a Point?
... and while I'm venting ... Why oh why can't I add or subtract 90 degrees from a direction in an OpenRoads field like InRoads could do? : (
That worked. Thanks! It leaves kind of an odd Station rule on the placed point which is just non-intuitive for COGO layout work. With this type of work Stationing isn't as important as directions and distance ruling.
Ok, using Station Offset unlinked should work as shown here:

Here's a better description of what the scenario is like. In most cases the point that the direction is originating from is very unlikely to be parallel to the alignment that it's intercepting. In your example you are perpendicular to the alignment. I need to project a perpendicular from the location of the Point to intercept the alignment.
Something like this?
