Visualisation of GEOPAK data

Hi, We are currently using PowerCivil for Americas V8i V 08.11.05.39 and are noticing significant delays in visualising the data (small datasets - less than 300 points) It is not GEOPAK slowing things down - it does it's calculations then goes to visualise the data within the MicroStation view (or PowerDraft version of anyway) - this is were the delay occurs. It basically appears that that the program has 'hung', but waiting a few minutes, the data re-visualises. We have checked "Task Manager" and PowerCivil is not using large amounts of CPU nor RAM - very minimal amounts actually! This did not occur in previous versions of the GEOPAK software (we previous were using PowerSurvey XM V 08.09.06.31). Is anyone else experiencing this or know of a "fix"? Cheers, Chris.

Have you noticed this in all your models or is it a particular model your working with? Typically I have found 8i to be better with graphics in general. If it is a specific dataset it would be good to take a look at it.

I have seen some data import slowly (not sure why). In one instance we enabled a 3GB switch which then allowed the data to process quickly, yet the same data on another machine processed fine without any switch.

Chris,

Are you mapping cells?

If so, see if you have any "Named Groups" in your design file. Delete them and then re-visualize.
