If the link is broken because of shutting off a level in the sheet, is there any way to re-link it? I remember this happening back in the early 2000s when I first started using a container file to control levels. Back then, there were no options to switch from "never", "allow", or "always"). All you could do back then was detach and re-attach and then it would be re-linked. I used to do a model lock on the sheet to keep people from messing up my sheets. Once they came out with the 3 options, I never had that trouble again - until this software came out.

RE: Level display settings keep reverting

I had the same one and I still can't fix it

RE: Level display settings keep reverting

Thanks Tim Hickman

RE: Level display settings keep reverting

I just got in on this conversation, because I was having the same issues. I started looking around for answers. What worked for me is to double click the reference file and set Synchronize View to (none)

This is my drawing - with the referenced files. display overrides is greyed out. I am turning layers on and off with the level display in this view. I am using name boundaries which are creating the sheets. The only way I have figured out how to retain settings in the default view is to use global freeze.

One of the first can be the design file setting REFLEVELOVERRIDES.

Look at your Attachment Settings. one of those is "Display Overrides". Always will allow you to change level display for this reference. Never will always resync your level display back to the base file.

If you have made changes to the level display of your reference in the sheet file, you have broken the reference control of level display. Changes made to level display in the reference will not carry over to the sheet.

Are these nested references or direct attachments?

Since this is a sheet drawing, it may be created with a Saved View reference, and that may need to be updated.

RE: Level display settings keep reverting
it is in open roads version 10
