Geopak Site Modeler Element

We have seen this before but have never been able to reproduce the problem (so we can fix it).

BUT... we did add a configuartion variable that was designed to re-establish the elements vertices.

Go into MicroStation/PowerCivil (whichever one you have)

1) Workspace>Configuration.

2) New

3) Variable = GPKSITE_CHECK_VERTICES

4) New Value = 1

5) Click OK and then OK and save the changes.

6) Get out of PC/MS and then get back in and open your project.

In theory, it should re-establish your vertices.

Once you have your vertices back, save and exit the project and then remove the Config Variable.

I've run into this problem several times Michael. It would be nice to save the variable. Is it necessary to delete it after using it?

Not absolutely necessary but definitely advisable.

It reassigns elevations to the Site elemnst every time the project is opened. Not really something you want to do all the time.

I can check and see iof setting it to 0 (zero) will disable it so you can leave it there and just change it to 1 if required.

But I would suggest removing it until I find out.

Could you explain what you mean by "reassigns elevations to the site elements"? What elevations does it assign? Perhaps it would be desireable depending on what it does. Does the variable fix broken associations as well?

And yes it would be nice if we coud keep the variable and change it's value to zero. Let us know when you can.

the config variable finds Site elements that do not have vertices (the situation encountered and discussed in this thread) and looks at an internal copy of the DTM data that is stored inside the GSF and adds the vertices back onto the elements from the DTM data.

It does not do anything to elements that are not in this condition...

This means it should be OK to leave the Config Variable active all the time.

This will not re-establish a broken association.
