Hi,
I struggle with sight visibility checks. By default we can use several methods to calculate sight distance (Italian, AASHTO, Australian and French). These methods are great because ORD can read the grade and speed from the alignment and we can do one visibility check for the entire corridor, unlike the table method, where we have to manually change required distance every time the grade changes.
Is there a way to add more methods or modify equations which program use to calculate sight distance?
Hi Rafal,
My understanding is that these are hard coded into the software. The equation based method also uses the speed table from the alignment so you can have it calculate for different speeds between ranges.
What method are you looking for?

I guess Rafal (and me) are looking to calculate the stopping sight distance using our own countries standards.
So the actual question is: can we code country specific SSD equations so that those can be used instead of only AASHTO, AUS, FR and ITA
No, it is hard coded. The reason I ask is that many countries use variants of the same equations, eg. Australian and AASHTO are pretty much metric and imperial versions of each other.
Hi Rafał, I think you need to create your own superelevation rule file. You will find a comprehensive topic on this functionality in the ORD help. Good luck!
