Creating Terrain From Elements (Intersection Modeling)

Why is my Terrain created from elements doing this?

These are my settings and all lines have active profiles.

  • Almost always, when I see this happening is because of overlapping elements. For me, it always occurs at the join line between the sideroad and the main road.  If this join line overlaps one of the radii then the boundary fails.

I can't tell of your terrain includes such a join line, but this is where I would check first.

Occasionally, I get one of these which defies explanation.  After scream, holler, run in circles, then I:

    1. Select each of the boundary elements in turn and using the properties panel, flip it from boundary type to breakline and back again.  This usually works.
    2. Then, rarely, it still fails so I delete the terrain and start over.
