End Condition Ditch Folds Over Roadway After Placing Point at Active Terrain

Hello, 
 Can anyone provide some input as to possible why my ditch end condition folds back over to the other side of the roadway (see screenshot below) ? When testing in the template it works as needed ending at the existing ground. 
 
 Thank you - any help or input would be appreciated.

Are you using Feature Name overrides in the template? It is a common mistake to use the same name on both sides of the template as an override. Regular point names get a built in error check which adds a sequence number, but the overrides do not.
