I am trying to figure out how to utilize the Asset Management excel spreadsheet in order to export features in ORD as shapefiles. I go to the blank sheet within the main Asset Management, but I am only able to select the default ones (Stop Sign, Guardrail, etc) when I load the spreadsheet in ORD. Also, the drop down menus are all options that have to do with stop signs and can't be changed. How is this spreadsheet supposed to be used in order to export features with the right attributes? I've tried Googling everything, but no luck. Why is there not an easier way to export data straight to a shapefile under the File tab?
I am working with parcel and ROW information currently, if that is needed for better understanding. Trying to export ORD parcel info into GIS.
Thanks.
There is an export to shape file button in the bottom right of the Asset Manager dialog, however you'll need assigned items to whatever elements you intend to export. If your workspace/ client doesn't have these established within their Feature Definitions, you'll need to add assets to the xlms file within the workspace to attach to your graphics. Bentley's delivered workspace has an Asset Manager folder containing a starting xlsm file these items pull from and a readme.txt file. Also view the dgnlib folder and its Item Type folder within that folder... again a few xlsx files to get you started and readme.txt explain a bit more. Hope this helps! One of those readme docs has the following link to BentleyLearn video... https://learn.bentley.com/app/VideoPlayer/LinkToIndividualCourse?LearningPathID=112668&CourseId=127203&MediaID=5017577
