ORD Cross sections have solid shapes that print black

I am using ORD CE 2021 R2 and am having an issue with the cross section elements showing up as solid (fill) shapes that print solid black or gray. The element template only defines the level which should have a line weight of 0 and a material. I have no idea where the fill shape is coming from or why it prints.

Any suggestions?

  • Did it, no result. Set Default-3D model to be active in View 1, changed Display Style to the Wireframe. Saved Settings. Switched to Drawing model and it is still in Monochrome Display Style. Have no idea why as I barely use Monochrome Display Style.

I am afraid I will end up with manually changing every singe cross section drawing.

    BTW. I am using ORD 2022 R1.

  • If I remember correctly, I basically had to change the saved view (named boundary) presentation view attribute for each cross section named boundary from illustration to wireframe from in the file where the named boundaries are defined in.

Then I had to update each cross sections drawing model reference saved view settings to update from design.

This is a PIA, the weird thing is that issue is not applicable to every project, only with projects that used a template from an early DOT workspace.  So I feel like it roots all the way back to the template and component feature definition??  Any project using a newer template or a template from a more recent workspace don't seem to have this cross section issue.

  • I ended up changing the template so that it did not display closed shapes but instead only showed the outline. It was a quick fix so I could get the submittal done on time.
