ORD Plan Match Lines - Text Not Appearing

Hi,

Our DOT does not have a Annotation Group set up for Plan Match Lines. I've been attempting to create one in our DGNLIB for our firm to use to automatically generate these.

I've been successful with the lines. They come in great. However, the matchline text never gets drawn in the drawing. I've changed numerous settings in the Annotation Group dialogue and cannot figure out how to actually get the text in there. I've even emulated DGNLIBs from other DOT workspaces that have this set up successfully already. Everything looks good in the preview, but when I create sheets, only the matchline line shows up and the text does not. See below for a screenshot

  • If it's not something simple like the level is turned off or the text view attribute is turned off, then I'd start by looking at the text favorite. What does it look like?  I'd also look at the element template being used or create new test element template. You might also test with different text styles. Are you sure the text isn't there, maybe its really small?

  • Text is not there. I've tried just about every combination of text style/no text style. Favorites with, and without, fields in them. Not a level issue either, because I can go into explorer and see the matchline lines, but no text anywhere in the drawing.

Basically followed this video to a tee: www.youtube.com/watch?v=aaCFlIfunpM

Side note: For my text favorite I just have a string of text that says "MATCHLINE" with no stations, because when I get to 0:25 where he makes the field for the station number, when I click the named Boundary, I don't even get any of options this guy gets. I get a window that says "No content to display". In fact, unless I'm in the actual DGN that contains the Named Boundaries, I never get this. I have to be in the file with the native Named Boundaries.
