Equal Space Points tool issue

I'm attempting to place a series of 2D points using the Equal Space Points tool and upon doing so, keep receiving the "Element off design plane" error message immediately followed by the all too common program crash. I noticed it created a 3D model in my dgn even though I have the "Want 3d Point" field disabled. I ran through the motions a number of times to ensure I wasn't accidentally attempting to generate 3D points and can't figure out what's causing the issue. Below are screenshots of my tool settings and Power InRoads version number. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks

  • You can try moving your path element to something like 1000,1000 and seeing if the tool works on it there. If it does, then there may be an issue with your elements being so far out. The V8i plane is infinite, but there are several random tools that don't work well very, very far away from 0,0. If distance is the issue, folks here may be able to help you find a workaround.

If that doesn't solve it, there's something else going on...
Did you clear out your Geopak RSC files? I believe they are saved in the C:\Program Files\Bentley\GEOPAK\bin\ directory. That might not be it either, but it could be. Bad RSC files cause unusual errors.

  • Thanks again Mary, unfortunately moving the line closer to 0,0 didn't resolve the issue. I'm working in Power InRoads and was wondering if you knew where those resource files reside? Thanks
