You could define a certain distance for text and leader vertex to move if an annotation was going to overlap another one.
Does this functionality still exist

RE: Openroads Release 2 Collision-Free Cross Section Annotation?

Go Beach! ;)

RE: Openroads Release 2 Collision-Free Cross Section Annotation?

Thanks. But I did just download and install the latest version of ORD (2022 R3 (10.12.02.04)) and will be doing some evaluations on the settings.
Thanks for responding. Have you figured out a way to incorporate a filter within an annotation group to avoid label overlap?

RE: Openroads Release 2 Collision-Free Cross Section Annotation?

Aaron,

I believe that option only exists for the "Frame Annotation" method of annotating. I do not believe (on your version, or any later versions to this point) have the ability to adjust for collisions when annotating "on the element" (within each section).

RE: Openroads Release 2 Collision-Free Cross Section Annotation?

Is this still the proper way to avoid label overlap? I am using ORD 2021 R2.
You can set proper values using the collision tab in the manage annotation group to avoid text overlap.

It may not. A lot of plans production tools haven't been completely integrated from any of the previous packages. But I'm not using ORD in a production capability, so it could have functions I haven't found yet. Hopefully someone here can give you a more complete answer.

You do have the option to file a Service Request with Bentley. They certainly could tell you if that feature made it in, and you may be able to add your name to a list requesting it if it isn't there yet.

RE: Openroads Release 2 Collision-Free Cross Section Annotation?

I'm using OpenRail Designer CE 2021 Release 2

RE: Openroads Release 2 Collision-Free Cross Section Annotation?

Which version of ORD?
