I have placed a background map following a procedure recommended to me using Google Map Capture.
This is the result:
This is a drawing using a 3D seed file, and it's set to smooth modeling.
When attached to a drawing, it looks like this:
When I generate a pdf file I get this:
Obviously there's a difference here. These grey squares do not show up when doing a print preview. I'm guessing they might be what you see on the screen, but don't show when you make a hardcopy (shouldn't matter whether it's an 11x17 printer or 24x36 plotter print.
Full disclosure: this hasn't been printed yet. I'm working remotely and don't have printing capabilities. I haven't yet asked the party at the other end to try printing.
I guess I'm also looking for options for making a background map that actually comes in with the correct State Control Pane.
