Hello everyone,
To optimize our worflow, we're in the process of creating a couple of parametric cells for D&U nodes (mainly headwalls) that we will use to generate all the variations that we need or will need in future projects.
So I would like to know if there is an optimal method to create feature definitions (element models and symbologies also) for these nodes in bulk rather than creating each one alone.
Regards,
There is a possibility to do this using import/export tools to excel.
You can look this up here : Video: Exporting Feature Definitions and Feature Symbologies to XML/Excel - OpenRoads | OpenSite Wiki - OpenRoads | OpenSite - Bentley Communities.
Hi Youssef,
Happy to see you found your answer !
But to import back the XMLs, you would need some way and Bulk import/Export is not available for latest ORD releases yet.A specific tool has been developed to automate creation of an array of DU Feature Definitions from variations of parametric cells. - Looking for informations and will get back here

Hi Vincent,
Thanks for your feedback and looking forward to your answer.

Hello,
i have stumbled across these videos on youtube a while ago, apparently the author is a bentley employee?

is that the tool you've mentioned? if so it would be great if that were avaliable somewhere.
Hi Michel,
Yeah, this what we're using in order to create parametric cells for headwall nodes.
What I'm looking for now, after creating the cells, is a way to create feature definitions in bulk (including elements templates and symbologies) for these nodes.
