I have a water line that I am trying to place hydrants off using the "place lateral command". I was able to successfully place a few then the program crashed when placing a lateral and I have not been able to place anymore without the program crashing.
I have since created new drawings and have found the same problem to occur.
For the node feature definition, I am using a fire hydrant. For the tap node feature definition, I have it set to "no feature definition", as any other feature definition is not valid for a tap node.
Is there any reason that this may be happening? Any fixes? or is this a known bug?
This is a bug. You need to use a feature definition on the tap node. Just make a dummy FD with minimal plan and 3D cells

When I select either a generic node or a FD that I have created, I am unable to use them as a tap node and I see, "Select a valid tap node feature definition" when I have them selected.
Are there any specific requirements when creating a dummy FD for a tap node?
I found that the structure type must be set to "Tap Node". This can be located under Explorer > OpenRoads Standards > Feature Definition > Nodes.
This has corrected the issue for me and allowed the placement of lateral nodes and conduits with a tap node connection.
