Has anyone ever gotten this to actually work? When I watch this video posted by Bentley all of my elevations come in as 0.00' even though I have an active profile associated to my smart line.. The goal is to produce edge of pavement elevations every 25' showing the proposed elevations.

Hi Chris, the "Point" fields have only worked on horizontal point elements for me, so I'm surprised it worked in that video. You should be able to get profile elevations to annotate using the Plan Annotation > Vertical In Plan > Profile Elevation field in the text favorite instead.

Hm it still doesn't want to work for me... I'm in the 2D view and I'm using the annotate element tool on the 2D line that has an active profile. Any idea what else I could be missing? Still displaying 0.00'. It's like it's not reading the active profile for some reason. Using Openroads Design CE v 10.16.0.80. Does the feature definition used matter?
That's strange, your workflow sounds fine and I don't think feature definition matters.
I did a quick test on my end and both fields actually work, so that wasn't it. I got 0.00' if I cleared the active profile or set it active to a regular microstation line in the profile. Is your profile a civil geometry element? Maybe try drawing another profile as a test and setting that active to see if anything populates and then you'll know if it's related to the profile you're using.
Ahhh the whole time I think it was the how the plan view line was drawn... I'm not the one that created this linework, so not sure how the horizontal lines were drawn. Looks like they were trimmed at the ends as well, so maybe this is the reason they weren't working. very strange. Thank you Kristina!
I'm glad you were able to figure it out!
